Kabale Police Probe Suspected Suicide of Senior Five Student

The article says the events happened on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in Ahamurangara Village, Bugarama Parish, Buhara Sub-county. Police reported that Katusiime told her mother in the morning that she would not go to school because she had no examinations to sit. Her mother later went to the garden and returned around 6pm, when she allegedly found Katusiime hanging by a rope in the sitting room.

Police were alerted and the case remains under investigation. Kigezi Region police spokesperson Nelson Tumushime used the incident to encourage people facing stress, depression, financial pressure or family problems to seek help from trusted relatives, leaders or health workers rather than remain silent. He also cautioned against sharing images or videos from the scene online, saying such actions can deepen the pain of bereaved families.
