Kabaka’s Subjects Present Royal Offerings at Bulungibwansi Celebrations

What the report says
Subjects from eight Buganda counties presented royal offerings, or amakula, to Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II during Bulungibwansi Day and Local Governments celebrations, according to Nile Post. The counties named in the report were Kyaddondo, Ssingo, Busiro, Mawogola, Bugerere, Kkooki, Butambala and Ggomba. The offerings were delivered on behalf of the kingdom by Joseph Kawuki, who serves as Minister for Local Government, Kabaka’s Visits and Buganda Affairs Abroad.
Kingdom leaders framed the gesture as a public sign of loyalty and respect for the Kabakaship. The Katikkiro thanked Buganda subjects for the contribution and said the presentation of amakula reflected affection for the Nnamulondo, while also linking it to the kingdom’s broader traditions and responsibilities. He also praised the Kabaka’s chiefs for continuing to mobilize communities and remind them to support and care for the Kabaka’s palaces.
The report also quotes Hassan Kagga, the Kayima of Mawokota County, who thanked county and sub-county leaders for organizing participation in the event. He said the turnout showed continuing commitment to the Kabaka and the institution of the Nnamulondo. In broader context, Bulungibwansi activities are typically associated with community mobilization and civic responsibility in Buganda, making the royal offerings part of both a ceremonial and organizational tradition.
