Juventus agree to sign Woltemade on loan from Newcastle

Juventus have agreed to take Newcastle United forward Nick Woltemade on a season-long loan, according to BBC Sport Football. The 24-year-old is expected to travel to Turin for a medical after a deal worth about £3.5m was reached. The arrangement does not include an option to buy, making it a short-term move rather than a permanent transfer.

Woltemade joined Newcastle from Stuttgart in August 2025 in a club-record £69m move, but has struggled for regular starts since arriving. BBC Sport says he has started only one of Matthias Jaissle’s first three matches in charge, though he did come off the bench in Newcastle’s 2-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur and provided the assist for Yoane Wissa’s goal.

Juventus had been searching for a forward before Tuesday’s deadline and had also explored other attacking options, including Joshua Zirkzee. The Italian club were left needing reinforcements after Jonathan David left on loan to Atletico Madrid. BBC Sport reported that Newcastle’s work on a potential replacement, Lille forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo, could help open the way for Woltemade’s exit.
