NBCSports.com’s ProFootballTalk reported that linebacker Jordyn Brooks and the Miami Dolphins have agreed to a three-year contract extension, keeping one of the team’s top defensive players from nearing free agency next March. Citing multiple reports, NBC said the deal is valued at $51.3 million, including $35 million guaranteed.

Brooks, 28, had been entering the last season of the three-year agreement he signed with Miami as a free agent in 2024. According to NBC, he has started every Dolphins game over the past two seasons and had his strongest campaign in 2025, when he led the NFL with 183 total tackles and 99 solo stops. He also recorded 13 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, three pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery, earning first-team All-Pro recognition for the first time.

The extension is notable because it comes under Miami’s new leadership structure, with general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley now in place. NBC noted that Brooks is the third key player the Dolphins have extended this offseason, following center Aaron Brewer and running back De’Von Achane.

Brooks entered the NFL as the No. 27 overall pick in the 2020 draft and spent his first four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks before joining Miami. The reported agreement signals that the Dolphins are prioritizing continuity around core contributors while reshaping the roster under their new regime.
