BaltimoreRavens.com reported that Ravens first-year head coach Jesse Minter contacted quarterback Lamar Jackson after seeing Jackson ranked No. 69 on the NFL Network’s “NFL Top 100” list entering the 2026 season. According to the team site, Minter discussed the ranking on “The Lounge” podcast and said he had an “interesting back and forth” with Jackson that he would keep private.

The ranking represented a steep fall for Jackson, who was listed 67 spots higher a year earlier. BaltimoreRavens.com noted that Jackson’s 2025 season was affected by injuries that kept him out of four games and limited him at other points, contributing to lower production and the Ravens missing the playoffs. Minter argued that Jackson’s résumé as a two-time MVP and his recent elite quarterback play should carry more weight, while adding that he does not put much importance on the list.

The team site also reported that several quarterbacks, including Trevor Lawrence, Bo Nix and Jalen Hurts, appeared ahead of Jackson in the player-voted rankings. Minter emphasized that Baltimore remains fully committed to Jackson as its quarterback and said he believes Jackson is focused more on winning than on outside evaluations.

The comments come as Jackson begins training camp in a new offensive system under first-year offensive coordinator Declan Doyle.
