What the report says

Screen Rant reports that IO Interactive has released an unexpected content update for 007: First Light, giving players new missions, weapons and an unlockable outfit for the game’s version of James Bond. The update was announced through the official 007GameIOI account on X, according to the outlet, and arrives while fans continue to wait for the next major developments in the James Bond film franchise after Daniel Craig’s departure from the role.

The new material centers on two Escalation missions set during the W&A Museum gala in the “Uninvited” chapter. Screen Rant says one mission, focused on “The Workshop,” emphasizes silently eliminating targets, while the other, “Extraction Avenues,” challenges players to escape as reinforcements close in. The update also adds three weapons described by the outlet as resembling a Desert Eagle-style pistol, an MP5-style submachine gun and a Mac-10-style weapon.

A notable part of the update is the addition of the “diamond in the rough” suit, which Screen Rant says had previously appeared in 007: First Light but could not be unlocked by players. The outlet frames the release as a smaller but welcome addition for Bond fans, particularly because the next big-screen iteration of 007 has not yet been revealed.

Screen Rant also notes that this update is part of a broader first-year roadmap for 007: First Light, with a story expansion already teased. The game, developed and published by IO Interactive, stars Patrick Gibson as Bond and is presented as a way for the franchise to continue engaging audiences beyond films and novels.
