What the report says

Variety reported that Jacob Elordi discussed the death of his “Euphoria” character Nate Jacobs during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” guest-hosted by his co-star Colman Domingo. According to the report, the final season ends Nate’s arc with a grim sequence in which he is buried alive and bitten by what appears on screen to be a rattlesnake.

Elordi described the production as physically punishing, saying series creator Sam Levinson had brought him back “to torture” him. He told Domingo that much of the season involved Nate being pursued and assaulted after a real-estate investment storyline goes wrong. For the death scene, Elordi said he spent two days in a coffin setup while wearing prosthetics and a fake tongue, with his vision restricted.

Variety said the snake used during filming was a boa constrictor, later presented in the show as a rattlesnake. Elordi described the animal as calm rather than menacing, joking that he tried to encourage it to appear more threatening because it kept settling near his feet.

The interview also touched on what “Euphoria” has meant for Elordi’s career. He said the HBO series had transformed his life and reflected on how it helped propel cast members into major film work. Variety noted that Elordi’s next project is Ridley Scott’s “The Dog Stars,” scheduled to premiere Aug. 28.
