What the report says

Israeli forces raided the offices of several Palestinian nongovernmental organizations and entered the courtyard of the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank, according to Al Jazeera’s reporting on Tuesday. The search operations targeted the Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees and the Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, while snipers were also positioned near the hospital’s entrances, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

Al Jazeera reported that forces confiscated equipment from Addameer, an organization that works on prisoner rights. The outlet said the group has been shut by Israeli forces before and has previously been described by the Israeli military as a terrorist organization. The Palestine Medical Complex is the largest government medical facility in the West Bank, making the deployment around it especially significant for local residents and medical staff.

The raid took place in central Ramallah and, according to Al Jazeera, caused panic as people were at school and work nearby. The broadcast also said journalists covering the operation were hit with stun grenades earlier in the day. Beyond this specific incident, raids on Palestinian civil society groups and checkpoints around medical sites have been recurring flashpoints in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, where such operations often raise concerns about access to care, freedom of movement and the work of rights organizations.
