Israeli attacks on Gaza kill seven as ‘ceasefire’ violations continue

What the report says

At least seven Palestinians were killed and more than 10 others wounded in a series of Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip, according to Al Jazeera’s report published on 30 September 2026. The deadliest strike hit a passenger van in Tal al-Hawa, in southwest Gaza City, where witnesses and medical sources said six people were killed. The Palestine Red Crescent Society said its teams transferred 13 wounded people from that attack to al-Quds Hospital, with medical sources describing some injuries as critical.

Al Jazeera also reported that an Israeli strike on a residential apartment near al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City killed at least one woman. Elsewhere, four Palestinians, including two children, were wounded when a drone struck a shelter for displaced people in southern Gaza, while two more people were seriously injured southeast of Deir el-Balah. Tank fire was also reported in Khan Younis.

The attacks came amid continuing accusations of violations of the nearly year-old ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Gaza’s Health Ministry said bodies from the previous 24 hours had arrived at hospitals and put the death toll since the ceasefire began at 1,431, with more than 5,000 wounded in that period. The ministry’s figures and Al Jazeera’s reporting underline the continuing strain on Gaza’s health system and civilian infrastructure.

More broadly, the report says Gaza has suffered widespread destruction since the war began in October 2023. The UN Satellite Centre has estimated that most structures in the territory have been damaged, with a large share destroyed.
