MacRumors reports that Apple’s iOS 27 adds a range of new iCloud-related features spanning Home, Siri, Photos, Journal and Passwords, with some capabilities tied to paid iCloud+ storage. The article, published July 24, says the update is available to developer and public beta testers and is expected to launch in September alongside new iPhone models.

For HomeKit Secure Video users, the Home app is gaining Apple Intelligence features that can summarize camera activity in text notifications, label events in the playback timeline, support event searches and connect related activity across two cameras. MacRumors says these AI features require a 2TB or higher iCloud+ plan, a home hub such as a HomePod or Apple TV 4K, and an Apple Intelligence-capable device. Separately, HomeKit Secure Video cameras can record up to 4K in iOS 27.

The report also says iCloud+ subscribers will be able to raise daily limits for some Apple Intelligence functions, including Image Playground, though Apple has not detailed the exact limits or all affected features. Siri conversations in the new Siri app can sync through iCloud across iPhone, iPad and Mac, allowing users to revisit, pin and continue chats across devices.

In Photos, iOS 27 adds a temporary 24-hour option to prioritize iCloud uploads regardless of battery status, faster iCloud Photos uploading, richer collaboration link previews, easier sharing links and improved access to shared content on iCloud.com. Shared Albums will also allow Android and Windows users to upload photos, while preserving full-resolution media. MacRumors also notes iCloud sync status for Journal entries and an Apple Intelligence feature in Passwords that can help fix weak passwords using iCloud Keychain and Safari.
