What the report says

BBC Sport Football reports that Inter Milan are moving toward a deal worth about 35 million euros, or £30 million, for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones. The Italian champions had previously seen a lower verbal offer rejected in June, and Liverpool are said to have been valuing the 25-year-old at around £35 million because he has one year left on his contract.

According to the report, the clubs still need to settle final details, although there is an understanding that a £30 million package could lead to an agreement. Liverpool are described as open to a sale, and their stance is said to be influenced by the kind of fee Inter paid for another Premier League player, Djed Spence, earlier this summer. Inter had also pursued Jones in January with a loan proposal that was turned down.

Jones has been with Liverpool since joining the academy at age nine and made his senior debut in 2019. He has made 228 appearances for the club, including 49 matches last season, though he started only 18 Premier League games as he struggled to secure a regular place under Arne Slot. The report says Jones is interested in a fresh challenge, and a move would make him another English player to join Inter this summer.
