'Intense' talks convinced Reedijk over Hibs job

What the report says
Marink Reedijk says a lengthy meeting with Hibernian’s board in London helped persuade him to take the Easter Road job. The BBC reports that the 35-year-old Dutch coach spent seven hours in talks before accepting his first managerial role in Scotland’s top flight, and he has spent the past two weeks settling in with the squad, including a warm-weather camp in Spain.
Reedijk is set to make his Hibs debut away to Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday. In comments reported by BBC Sport, he described the early period at the club as intense but productive, saying he has used the time to get to know players, staff and the wider set-up. He also said the club’s family feel and supporter culture were important factors in his decision.
Hibs are 10th in the Scottish Premiership, and Reedijk said his immediate aim is to win as many matches as possible. Beyond results, he stressed building a stronger collective identity and making everyone feel involved on and off the pitch. He arrives in Edinburgh after leaving Belgian side Beveren, whom he guided to promotion last season.
More broadly, Reedijk argued that Scottish football offers a demanding environment with passion, tradition and room to grow, noting that the league can be unpredictable. That context helps explain why Hibs appear to see him as part of a wider attempt to reset the club’s direction and performance.
