Nile Post reported that Emmanuel Sakoosi, an aspirant for LC I chairperson in Busimbi Kasimbi Village, Mityana Municipality, was nominated on Monday while still recovering from injuries suffered in a road accident. According to the report, Sakoosi was transported from Mulago National Referral Hospital, where he has been receiving treatment, to the Busimbi Division headquarters for the nomination process.

Sakoosi is seeking to contest the LC I chairperson position in Busimbi Kasimbi Village, Busimbi Division, in the village elections scheduled for July 28. The outlet reported that he had shown interest in the race before the crash, which was described as nearly fatal. After his nomination, Sakoosi said his recovery was continuing and asked supporters to remain calm and maintain their backing. He also pledged to serve residents if elected.

Former Busimbi Division Speaker Nuuhu Kalamwa welcomed the nomination, portraying Sakoosi’s appearance as a sign of resilience and commitment to community service. Nile Post also reported that supporters at the nomination venue reacted positively to seeing him present despite his condition, saying it increased their confidence in his campaign.
