What the report says

India delivered a commanding win over Pakistan in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup in Dubai, dismissing their rivals for 55 and then chasing the target for the loss of three wickets. Al Jazeera reported that Pakistan’s batting unraveled after an early opening stand of 27, ending with their lowest total in women’s T20 internationals. The match was played at the Dubai International Stadium on Saturday, with Pakistan opting to bat first after winning the toss.

India’s spinners did most of the damage. Shree Charani and Prema Rawat took three wickets each, while Deepti Sharma added two more as Pakistan lost 10 wickets for 28 runs. Charani’s spell, including key breakthroughs in the middle overs, helped turn a promising start into a major collapse. Fatima Sana was Pakistan’s most effective bowler in the chase, taking three wickets, but the total was too small to defend.

India had a short wobble in reply, losing three wickets, but captain Harmanpreet Kaur finished unbeaten on 18 and guided the side to 57 for 3 in 8.4 overs. The victory kept India unbeaten in the tournament and secured a place in the semifinals. For Pakistan, the loss made their qualification hopes dependent on their final group match against Hong Kong.

More broadly, the result underlined India’s control of the group stage and highlighted the gap Pakistan must overcome to stay in contention. As reported by Al Jazeera, the match was also notable for the scale of Pakistan’s collapse, which produced a record low in the format.
