Hull stun Man Utd in dream Premier League return

What the report says
Hull City made a memorable Premier League return by defeating Manchester United, handing the club its first top-flight win over United. The match was played at Hull’s home ground, and the result marked a strong opening statement after the Tigers came back to the Premier League following nine years away. The home side had reached the division through the play-offs last season.
According to Nile Post, Hull’s goals came from defenders. Semi Ajayi opened the scoring after United goalkeeper Senne Lammens had pushed Oli McBurnie’s effort onto the post. Later, summer signing Nobel Mendy added a second with a debut header from a Regan Slater free-kick. Mendy had arrived from Rayo Vallecano in a club-record deal worth more than £20 million, underlining the scale of Hull’s summer rebuild.
The result was a setback for Manchester United, who began the season with confidence after finishing third under Michael Carrick and securing Champions League qualification in the previous campaign. Nile Post reported that United also added new signings over the summer, but they were unable to recover against a disciplined Hull side. Hull goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis made several saves, including a late stop from Bryan Mbeumo, as the hosts controlled the key moments.
