What the report says

Hull City have added two more players to their squad with the signings of forward Joe Gelhardt from Leeds United and midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath from Red Bull Salzburg, BBC Sport Football reported. Both transfers were completed for undisclosed fees, with Gelhardt agreeing a four-year contract that includes an option for a further year and Gourna-Douath signing a five-year deal.

Gelhardt, 24, returns to Hull after two loan spells with the club. BBC Sport said his time there included 14 Championship goals last season and the decisive second goal in the play-off second leg against Millwall. He previously came through at Wigan, moved to Leeds, and also had a loan spell at Sunderland. In comments reported by BBC Sport, Gelhardt said he was pleased to make the move permanent after feeling a strong connection with the club during his loan stays.

Gourna-Douath joins after coming through at Saint-Etienne and then spending four seasons with Salzburg, where he made 95 appearances. He also spent the second half of last season on loan at Le Havre in Ligue 1. The two arrivals are Hull’s 10th and 11th signings since the club won promotion back to the Premier League, underlining the scale of their summer rebuild.
