How Ogwal’s Personal Resources Powered PLU’s Mobilisation Drive In Dokolo

What the report says
Joseph Jones Ogwal, the Dokolo North Member of Parliament and PLU’s overall coordinator in Dokolo District, featured prominently in the Patriotic League of Uganda’s mobilisation drive tied to the Lango sub-region endorsement exercise for Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba. According to Dokolo Post, Ogwal was involved in planning, contributed personal funds, and helped encourage participation from across the district, including areas outside his constituency.
The report says Ogwal personally arranged transport for about 200 people from Dokolo to Lira City for the endorsement event held at Mayor’s Garden on October 4, 2026, and also purchased endorsement books that were later distributed to all 14 sub-counties in the district. He urged NRM supporters and others aligned with the party’s programmes to sign the registers, saying Dokolo should not lag behind other parts of the country in the exercise.
A consultative meeting on Tuesday, October 6, at De Vela Hotel in Dokolo Town Council marked the rollout of the endorsement registers. NRM chairpersons and PLU mobilisers from across the district attended, alongside local leaders including Dokolo District chairperson Geoffrey Opio Ekong and Assistant Resident District Commissioner Jafa Ocaya. The gathering highlighted PLU’s effort to organize support within the NRM structure and underscored the group’s growing presence in Dokolo’s local political landscape.
