How dfcu Bank has contributed to Uganda’s people, businesses and communities

What the report says
dfcu Bank Limited has launched its first “Report to Society 2025,” a document the company says sets out how its banking activities and community investments have supported Uganda’s economic development, financial inclusion and broader wellbeing. The launch took place at Serena Hotel-Kigo in Kampala and brought together leaders from dfcu Limited, dfcu Bank, dfcu Foundation, customers, partners and other stakeholders.
According to The Independent Uganda, the report highlights the bank’s work in financing small and medium-sized enterprises, supporting women entrepreneurs, strengthening agricultural value chains, widening access to financial services and backing community development and environmental initiatives. Bank leaders framed the publication as part of a wider effort to improve transparency and show how the institution contributes beyond financial performance.
The report says dfcu Bank supported more than 80,000 women entrepreneurs through its Women in Business programme and financed 6,527 SMEs in 2025. It also says community health outreaches reached more than 25,000 people, including through a three-year partnership with Rotary Uganda tied to UGX 1 billion in medical camps and health screenings. dfcu Foundation said it had supported more than 4,000 enterprises since 2018 and facilitated about UGX 38 billion in credit in 2025. The report also cites environmental activity, including 62,000 trees planted or distributed in 2025.
The bank, established in 1964, presented the report as a public account of its contribution to livelihoods, enterprises and communities in Uganda.
