What the report says
The Independent Uganda reported that Housing Finance Bank held a customer forum in Soroti on Friday, July 17, 2026, bringing together more than 150 clients, bank officials and city leaders from the Teso sub-region. The engagement was intended to strengthen relationships with customers, collect feedback and discuss financial services suited to the changing needs of individuals, entrepreneurs and businesses.
According to the report, the bank used the meeting to present products including Swift Loans, Agricultural Production Loans, Mortgage Solutions and Education Finance. Housing Finance Bank’s Head of Customer Experience, Carolyne Agudo, said feedback from clients is central to improving service delivery and making banking more responsive and personalized. Customers at the forum raised concerns including the need for faster loan processing, quicker responses and more tailored financial solutions.
The event also included a legal advisory session led by the bank’s external legal counsel. The Independent said customers were briefed on their rights and legal requirements linked to banking and business transactions, followed by a question-and-answer session aimed at helping participants make better-informed financial decisions.
Housing Finance Bank’s Branch Distribution Manager, Philip Emunot, described the bank as fully Ugandan-owned and said its growth depended on customer trust and long-term relationships. Soroti City Town Clerk Joseph Mwesigwa, Mayor Francis Esudu Obwonyo and Community Development Officer Osekenye Damalie attended.
