Housing Finance Bank Appoints Moses Oroto to Head Business Banking

What the report says
Housing Finance Bank has named Moses Mande Oroto as Head of Business and Institutional Banking, a move the lender says is aimed at deepening its engagement with corporate, institutional and other business customers across Uganda. According to Nile Post, Oroto took up the role in August 2026 and will be responsible for strengthening relationships with businesses and institutions, while helping develop customer-focused solutions for clients seeking to expand.
The bank said Oroto’s background in business development, strategic leadership and customer relationship management will support its efforts in the segment. He joined Housing Finance Bank from Centenary Bank, where he had served as Chief Manager, Public Sector since February 2023. Nile Post also reported that he spent much of his career at Centenary Bank in roles covering corporate and institutional banking, SME banking, credit administration and commercial lending.
Oroto said he was joining at an important stage in the bank’s growth and described his priorities as building strategic partnerships and improving the bank’s value proposition for business and institutional clients. Housing Finance Bank said the appointment forms part of broader efforts to strengthen leadership and institutional capacity. In practical terms, the change highlights competition among Ugandan lenders to serve firms, public institutions and SMEs, a key part of banking activity in the country.
