History repeats itself as Gen Muhoozi’s son graduates at Sandhurst

Officer Cadet Ruhamya Kainerugaba, the son of Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom, completing the academy’s Officer Commissioning Course. The Independent Uganda reported that the ceremony took place on Friday, with the CDF present to witness the parade. The report said Ruhamya was commissioned into the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces alongside fellow Ugandan cadet Andrew Bakira Ruyondo, as well as other international and British cadets.

According to the publication, Ruhamya had joined the UPDF as a private in June 2025 before being selected for training at Sandhurst.
