What the report says

Headteachers in several districts have warned Senior Four candidates in Uganda to avoid examination malpractice and follow Uganda National Examinations Board rules as the 2026 national exams approach. According to Dokolo Post, the guidance was shared during school briefings held ahead of the Uganda Certificate of Education examinations, which are set to start on Monday, October 12.

The published report says school leaders in Dokolo, Alebtong and Kalaki districts stressed discipline, proper time management and cooperation with invigilators and other exam officials. At Kangai Senior Secondary School, headteacher Okello Joel cautioned students against collusion, unfinished practical work and other misconduct that could affect results. At Agwat Senior Secondary School, John Bosco Achon urged candidates to respect exam procedures and avoid resisting checks before entering examination rooms.

In Alebtong District, Alexson Okello of Alebtong Comprehensive School said 53 candidates were registered at his school and noted that understanding UNEB rules makes the process easier. He also encouraged parents to stay involved during the examination period so that problems can be addressed quickly. Similar advice was given at Otuboi Comprehensive Secondary School in Kalaki District, where headteacher Eitu Roy-Luis emphasized discipline, exam ethics and the need to avoid cheating.

Dokolo Post added that 503,055 candidates are registered for the 2026 Uganda National Examinations Board assessments, with Mathematics Paper One scheduled for the morning of the first day and Chemistry in the afternoon.
