What the report says

Nile Post reports that Hariss International has extended its partnership with the Rotary Cancer Run through Krystal Natural Mineral Water, unveiling a special-edition bottle label intended to promote cancer awareness and support cancer-care fundraising in Uganda. The company is serving again as the run’s official hydration partner, with the renewed arrangement described as the fourth year of collaboration.

According to the report, part of the revenue from each specially labelled Krystal bottle sold will be directed toward the planned Rotary Cancer Centre and other cancer-care programmes. Hariss International’s Head of Marketing, Samuel Hooper, said the company wants to use Krystal Water’s nationwide reach to encourage public participation in the fight against cancer. The brand will also supply drinking water during Rotary Cancer Run activities in major towns and cities.

Nile Post quoted Hooper as saying the partnership has supported cancer awareness and early detection work over the past three years. He cited 37 medical camps, more than 8,000 people reached with screening and health services, and over 4,000 lives positively affected through awareness, care and intervention.

Rotary Cancer Run organisers welcomed the renewed support, saying the special-edition bottles could broaden public awareness while contributing to fundraising for the Shs14 billion Rotary Cancer Centre project. The report says this year’s campaign is targeting more than 100,000 participants and aims to raise Shs5 billion through registrations and related fundraising, as Rotary and its partners continue efforts to improve access to cancer-care services across Uganda.
