DSOGaming reported that YouTube channel Blue Thunder Gaming has released a comparison video showing locations from Halo: Campaign Evolved alongside their counterparts in Halo: Combat Evolved. The outlet framed the video as an early look at the remake’s visual upgrades, aimed especially at fans interested in how familiar environments have changed.

According to DSOGaming, Halo: Campaign Evolved is described as a modernized remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign. The report says it will include the full first-game campaign plus three new prequel missions involving Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson. It also lists expanded weapons, vehicles, enemies and optional gameplay-altering “Skulls” as part of the remake’s additions.

The article says the game will support solo play and online co-op for up to four players, with crossplay and cross-progression across PC, PlayStation and Xbox. DSOGaming also noted quality-of-life changes such as sprinting, aiming refinements and the addition of nine weapons from later Halo titles, including the Energy Sword, Battle Rifle and Needle Rifle.

DSOGaming further reported that Halo: Campaign Evolved uses Unreal Engine 5 and cited early preview performance of 90–120 FPS at native 1440p on ultra settings with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090. The outlet said Microsoft plans to release the PC version on July 28, and its editor noted DSOGaming had not received a review code but expected to share PC technical impressions and benchmarks after gaining early access.
