Guimaraes can take us to the next level - Arteta

What the report says
Mikel Arteta said Arsenal’s new signing Bruno Guimaraes can help the club move to the “next level,” as the manager signaled there may still be more transfer business to come. BBC Sport reported that Arsenal officially announced the £75m signing of the 28-year-old midfielder from Newcastle United on Saturday, with Guimaraes introduced to supporters at Emirates Stadium before the match against Borussia Dortmund.
Arteta said he was impressed by Guimaraes’ energy, hunger and character in training, and argued those qualities fit Arsenal’s push for major honours. He outlined the midfielder’s potential value on the pitch as a versatile option who can help win the ball, speed up play, create chances and add goals. Guimaraes was not in the squad for Arsenal’s 3-2 defeat by Dortmund, but is expected to be involved against Como on Wednesday.
The report said Arsenal already have several midfield options, including Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, Martin Zubimendi, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri, Eberechi Eze and Mikel Merino. Arteta also said the club remain open to further signings if the right player becomes available. Separately, he gave an injury update saying Jurrien Timber remains weeks away from a return, while William Saliba is still recovering from a back injury.
