What the report says

GameRant reported that Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has outlined the company’s financial expectations for the fiscal year in which Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to launch. In a July 17 statement to shareholders, Zelnick said Take-Two expects more than $1 billion in operating cash flow during the current fiscal year. The game is listed in the report as set for a Nov. 19, 2026 release.

The figure is not presented as a direct sales forecast for GTA 6 alone. GameRant noted that operating cash flow reflects money generated from a company’s normal business activities after day-to-day costs, and that Take-Two’s forecast covers its broader portfolio. However, the outlet said the projection is being viewed in the context of GTA 6 because the company appears to have few other comparable releases planned for the year.

GameRant also cited outside estimates showing wide disagreement over how much GTA 6 could earn. Some unofficial projections have suggested launch-week revenue could reach several billion dollars, while other figures tied to early preorder speculation were described as less reliable because they were based partly on stock-market movement rather than confirmed sales. The article also referenced reports from Simply Wall Street and Newzoo, but emphasized that industry expectations remain divided.

Zelnick’s shareholder statement also pointed to Take-Two’s interest in acquisitions, technology investment and franchise growth, building on the company’s earlier Zynga deal. GameRant said Take-Two is due to hold a virtual annual shareholder meeting on Sept. 17 at 9 a.m. EST, where investors may vote on policies and management matters; any new GTA 6 details at that meeting remain unconfirmed.
