Google's latest Android 17 beta fixes Bluetooth headaches and Gemini crashes - Android Central

What the report says
Android Central reported that Google has released Android 17 QPR2 Beta 1, opening testing for the next quarterly Pixel update expected to become the December 2026 Feature Drop. The article says the beta follows the completion of Android 17 QPR1 and is aimed at Pixel users and developers who want early access through the Android Beta Program or Android Emulator.
The update appears focused on stability rather than new consumer features. According to Android Central, Google’s release notes list fixes for Bluetooth devices that could fail to reconnect after pairing was lost, lock screen media controls briefly appearing even when an app’s notifications were disabled, and a system crash that could cause Pixel devices to reboot when launching Gemini. Google also addressed a touch-input problem in which apps could stop receiving touch events after a multi-finger drag-and-drop gesture.
Android Central said the beta carries build number CP41.260701.005 and supports a broad range of currently supported Pixel hardware, including the Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 series, Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, Pixel 8 series, Pixel 9 family and Pixel 10 devices. Users already enrolled in Google’s beta program can receive the update over the air.
The report also notes a cutoff for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro: those models remain on the previous QPR1 beta branch because they have reached their guaranteed update limits. For Pixel owners, the release matters less for visible changes than for addressing reliability issues affecting core phone functions such as Bluetooth, touch input and Google’s AI assistant.
