Goodwin may miss Dundee United match at Kilmarnock

What the report says
Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin may miss Saturday’s Scottish Premiership trip to Kilmarnock after becoming unwell and being admitted to hospital on Thursday, according to BBC Sport Football. Assistant manager Lee Sharp stepped in to run first-team training on Friday at the club’s St Andrews base and handled the pre-match media duties while Goodwin was away.
Sharp said Goodwin was in “good spirits” when they spoke, and indicated the issue appeared to be precautionary observation rather than anything more specific. He said he did not have clear information on the manager’s condition and would check again later before the club decided who would lead the team at Rugby Park.
The uncertainty comes early in the Scottish Premiership season. Dundee United have taken one point from their first three league matches, while Kilmarnock have also struggled to start the campaign and were still without a point after two games, BBC Sport reported. If Goodwin is unable to attend, Sharp could take charge on the sidelines, but the club had not confirmed that decision at the time of publication. More broadly, short-term managerial absences are not unusual in football, and clubs often wait for medical updates before naming a replacement for matchday duties.
