What the report says

Fox News Digital reported that the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined actress Kaylee Hottle died from multiple blunt force injuries after a single-vehicle crash in Ijamsville, Maryland. The office classified the 18-year-old’s death as accidental, according to the publisher. The cause was released Wednesday, one day after the collision.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office told Fox that emergency crews responded before 3 a.m. Tuesday. Investigators said a 1995 Honda Accord driven by a 19-year-old Frederick man left the right side of a two-lane road and hit a culvert. Hottle was taken to a trauma center and later pronounced dead. The driver was hospitalized with injuries not believed to be life-threatening, while another passenger declined treatment at the scene. Authorities said excessive speed was believed to have contributed, and the crash remained under investigation.

Fox also reported that Hottle’s father, Joshua Hottle, addressed her death in an emotional social media video signed in ASL, saying the family was grieving and that he was traveling to Maryland to bring her body home. He also said he had reached out to the driver and expressed forgiveness.

Hottle was known for playing Jia in 2021’s “Godzilla vs. Kong” and reprising the role in “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.” Fox described her as a deaf actress from a multigenerational deaf family who had also appeared in commercials, advocacy projects and a 2021 episode of “Magnum P.I.”
