The report said the timing of his full return from rehabilitation on his right knee is still unclear, though the Giants hope he can be available for the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.

Nabers is recovering from a right ACL tear suffered in Week 4 last season against the Los Angeles Chargers. According to the NBC Sports report, he had surgery on Oct. 28 and later needed another procedure during the offseason to remove scar tissue after stiffness developed in the knee. The article said the team is expected to handle his comeback carefully, with his status likely to be closely watched throughout camp.
