NBC Sports Bay Area reported that the San Francisco Giants placed infielder Casey Schmitt on the 10-day injured list Tuesday after an MRI showed a torn meniscus in his left knee. Schmitt was injured Monday night against the Milwaukee Brewers at Oracle Park when he pulled up while trying to stop after an aggressive turn around first base in the second inning. He had to be helped off the field.

The report said San Francisco recalled infielder Osleivis Basabe from Triple-A Sacramento in the corresponding roster move.
