Big Blue View reported that the New York Giants opened training camp Wednesday at the Greenbrier Performance Center in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, with new head coach John Harbaugh emphasizing that the trip is about regular-season preparation rather than a retreat. Harbaugh described the early evaluation focus as execution, saying the team is already preparing for games and is being deliberate about what it practices.

A major Day 1 storyline was second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart working through changes in the Giants’ offense. According to the report, about half of Dart’s 11-on-11 snaps came from under center, an area he said required different mechanics, including footwork and pocket landmarks. Dart said the team has spent extensive offseason time on those details and that he feels increasingly comfortable with the approach.

The report also noted that wide receiver Malik Nabers participated in individual work, ran a few routes without defenders and caught passes with Dart after practice, while the team is expected to be cautious with him. In the kicking competition, Ben Sauls went 4-for-5 from 33 to 51 yards and missed from 61, while rookie Dominic Zvada made 4 of 6 attempts, including misses on an extra point and a 43-yarder.

Other practice notes included pass breakups by cornerback Tae Banks, a long touchdown connection from Jameis Winston to Braxton Berrios, and several missed interception chances by the defense. Tight end Thomas Fidone and defensive tackle Sam Roberts came off the PUP list after passing physicals and joined practice.
