Ghana: Two Arrested Over Murder of Female Tricycle Rider in Bono East

What the report says
Ghanaian Times, as distributed by AllAfrica, reports that police in Ghana have arrested two men in connection with the killing of a female tricycle rider and the theft of her vehicle in Afrancho, near Konkoli, in the Trede District of Bono East Region. The suspects were identified by police as Peter Nchor Asadigina, 21, and Mudasel Dramani, 19.
According to the police statement cited in the report, the pair allegedly hired the rider from Ampabame Lorry Station in Kumasi on October 29, 2026, and took her to Afrancho, where she was attacked and killed. The men were later arrested on October 30 at Hansua after a tip-off, while they were reportedly heading toward Techiman. Police said they believed the suspects intended to move and use the stolen green Bajaj tricycle for commercial purposes.
The report says officers recovered several items during a search, including a vehicle number plate, mobile phones, a suspected phone belonging to the deceased, SIM cards, an internet device, keys and other small items. The body has been taken to a mortuary for preservation and autopsy, and the suspects remain in custody as investigations continue. The case highlights wider concerns about violent crime and vehicle theft, and the police said they remain committed to public safety and accountability.
