Ghana: Three Arrested Over Murder of Mobile Money Vendor At Kasoa

What the report says
The Central East Regional Police Command in Ghana has arrested three people in connection with the killing of a mobile money vendor, Christian Amponsah, according to a report published by Ghanaian Times and distributed by AllAfrica. Police said the 34-year-old was found dead in a guest house near Kasoa Second in the Central Region after a booking with a female juvenile for two hours was not ended normally.
The suspects named in the report are Felicia Osei Appiah, 59, Clement Opoku Yeboah, 24, and a female juvenile. The arrests were made on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, after the guest house manager alerted authorities when the room remained closed beyond the booking period. Officers later found Amponsah lying face down in a pool of blood, with bedding and curtains covering parts of his body.
The police statement said the body was sent to the Police Hospital Mortuary in Accra for preservation, identification and autopsy. The suspects are being held while investigators examine the circumstances of the death. The command said it is continuing its inquiry and working to bring the case before court. The case has drawn attention because mobile money vendors are often seen as handling cash and digital transactions, making them vulnerable to robbery or violent attack, although the report did not state a motive.
