Ghana: Adaklu-Kodzobi Basic School Gets ICT, Science Lab

What the report says
An ICT centre and science laboratory have been opened at Adaklu-Kodzobi Basic School in Ghana’s Volta Region, according to Ghanaian Times via AllAfrica. The projects, valued at £30,000, are intended to improve teaching and learning in the rural Adaklu District community. The facilities were initiated and funded through the Earle Family of the United Kingdom, working with Ghana School Aid, a charity co-founded by Eric Earle and his wife.
The inauguration was conducted on behalf of the government by Volta Regional Minister James Gunu, who thanked the family for supporting school infrastructure in an area where educational resources are limited. He described the new buildings as more than physical structures, saying they could help shape children’s futures. He also encouraged pupils to make use of the opportunities available to them and to focus on their education.
Wendy Earle, speaking for the family, said the goal was to support quality education in remote parts of Ghana. She also urged the school community to maintain the new facilities so they remain useful for years to come. Adaklu District Chief Executive Jerry Ameko and local chief Togbe Dzegblade also welcomed the project, with the chief calling for additional support to expand it further. A local associate of the family, Dr Hillary Gbedemah, said the facilities could strengthen science learning and support girls’ education.
