General Motors is set to report earnings before the bell. Here's what Wall Street expects - CNBC

What the report says
CNBC reported that General Motors raised several 2026 profit and cash-flow forecasts on Tuesday after its second-quarter results came in ahead of Wall Street expectations. Analysts surveyed by LSEG had expected adjusted earnings of $3.20 per share and revenue of $47.01 billion; GM reported adjusted earnings of $3.57 per share on revenue of $48.03 billion, according to the report.
The Detroit automaker increased its full-year adjusted EBIT outlook to $14 billion to $16 billion and lifted adjusted EPS guidance to $12 to $14. It also raised projected adjusted automotive free cash flow to $9.5 billion to $11.5 billion. However, CNBC said GM cut its forecast for net income attributable to stockholders to $8.4 billion to $9.8 billion, marking a second consecutive quarterly reduction in that measure even as other guidance improved.
CNBC attributed the stronger outlook to GM’s North American business, steady vehicle pricing, lower warranty expenses and smaller losses in electric vehicles as the company continues a major pullback from some EV investments. GM said its average vehicle transaction price was $52,000 in the quarter and that it had largely completed material charges tied to the EV retrenchment, including $10.9 billion in EV-related charges since the second half of last year.
For the quarter, GM posted net income attributable to stockholders of $1.3 billion, down 31.1% from a year earlier, while adjusted earnings rose about 30% to more than $3.9 billion. CNBC reported that GM shares closed Tuesday at $79.52, up 4.9%, after CFO Paul Jacobson described demand as resilient and highlighted the company’s earnings momentum.
