Gen. Muhoozi assigns Patriotic Officer Numbers to 82 More PLU Members

What the report says
Watchdog Uganda reports that Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who chairs the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), has given Patriotic Officer (PO) numbers to 82 additional members as part of the group’s internal administrative structure. The new assignments run from PO100 to PO181 and, according to the publisher, include people from public service, politics, governance, business, security and community mobilisation.
Among those named are senior officials such as Foreign Affairs Minister Adonia Ayebare, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Jonard Asiimwe, State Minister for Internal Affairs Juma Witonze, Deputy Attorney General Jackson Kafuuzi and Raymond Kamugisha, who heads Presidential Projects and Industrial Hubs. The list also includes Alhaji Faruk Kirunda, a special presidential assistant on press and mobilisation and deputy press secretary to the President.
The article says the numbering system is part of PLU’s framework for identifying members and supporting leadership, accountability and organisation-wide coordination. PLU, which has been promoting patriotism, civic participation, disciplined leadership and service, appears to be continuing its membership expansion and outreach across different sectors and communities in Uganda.
In a message published alongside the list, PLU General Secretary Twalla Fadil congratulated the newly assigned officers and encouraged them to serve diligently and loyally. More broadly, the development highlights the group’s efforts to formalize its internal network and strengthen mobilisation, a role that may be relevant to Uganda’s wider political and civic landscape.
