Gemini Spark rolling out to Google AI Pro users in the US - 9to5Google

9to5Google reports that Google is expanding Gemini Spark, its personal AI agent for handling multi-step tasks, to Google AI Pro subscribers in the United States. The feature previously launched in May for the higher-tier AI Ultra plan, and Google says availability for AI Pro members in other countries is expected “soon,” according to the report.

Spark appears as a dedicated area in the Gemini experience: a tab in the web navigation drawer and a page in the Android and iOS apps. It is designed to use Google services and tools such as Workspace, Search, personal context, location, chats, Canvas, a remote browser, and code execution to complete workflows. 9to5Google says Google is framing Spark around Tasks, Skills and Schedules: a Task is the broad objective, Skills are reusable sets of instructions with context, and Schedules can trigger actions based on time or conditions.

The report says users can have as many as 15 tasks active at once, with usage governed by Gemini’s broader compute-based limits. Since the initial launch, Spark’s Workspace-related abilities have expanded, including options involving Calendar, Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Keep and Google Tasks. Examples listed include scheduling meetings, drafting or replying to email, searching Drive files, creating documents or spreadsheets, and managing notes or tasks.

9to5Google also notes some safeguards and caveats: edits to shared Docs, Sheets and Slides require user review and confirmation, while Gemini can carry out bulk actions on private Google Tasks without confirmation. The rollout matters because it brings Google’s more agent-like Gemini features beyond its premium AI Ultra tier to a wider paid subscriber base.
