Traxion.gg reports that the prospect of adding the Garage 56 NASCAR entry to Le Mans Ultimate is now “closer than ever,” although Motorsport Games CEO Stephen Hood did not confirm it as a planned release. Speaking to Traxion, Hood said the company would “try to make it happen,” adding that the car remains outside the studio’s top priorities but is now more attainable than before.

The comments come as Le Mans Ultimate prepares to launch the first part of a six-venue U.S. Track Pass on July 28, with Daytona and Laguna Seca leading the rollout. Traxion framed the renewed Garage 56 discussion around the game’s increased U.S. focus. Hood previously told the outlet two years ago that the team expected to get the car into the simulation eventually, but that it was not then a priority.

The Garage 56 entry was the modified Chevrolet Camaro run by Hendrick Motorsports at the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans, driven by Jimmie Johnson, Jenson Button and Mike Rockenfeller. Traxion notes that the 2023 season is the first season represented in Le Mans Ultimate, which adds relevance to the car’s possible inclusion. The Camaro qualified ahead of the LMGTE field and was classified 39th at the finish.

If added, the car would bring one of Le Mans’ most distinctive recent special entries into the sim. For now, Traxion’s reporting indicates only that Motorsport Games is actively pursuing it, not that licensing, development or release timing has been finalized.
