According to the report, the two models will receive five years of Wear OS updates, an increase from Samsung’s previous four-year commitment for its watches.

The article says Samsung confirmed to SamMobile that the policy covers both major Wear OS upgrades — described as five years or five updates — and five years of security patches. 9to5Google notes that this makes the Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 the first Wear OS watches with a five-year update pledge, ahead of Google’s Pixel Watch lineup, which the report says is supported for three years.
