SamMobile reported that Samsung may be preparing to add the Galaxy S26 camera feature called Horizontal Lock to the Galaxy S25 series through the upcoming One UI 9.0 update, based on a leaked Android 17 build. The outlet said the build was found on a Galaxy S25+ and carried firmware version S936BXXUBDZG4, with the feature identified by tipster Fahad Ali Javed and referenced via @Alfaturk16.

Horizontal Lock is described as a video-recording tool that helps keep footage level even when the phone is tilted or rotated. SamMobile noted that the feature debuted with Samsung’s Galaxy S26 lineup but was not included when some S26-era additions reached the Galaxy S25 models through One UI 8.5, which is based on Android 16 QPR2.

The report said the appearance of Horizontal Lock on a Galaxy S25+ test build suggests Samsung could bring it beyond the higher-end Galaxy S25 Ultra. SamMobile added that because the standard Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ share the same rear camera setup, the feature may also reach the base model, though the outlet framed this as a likelihood rather than a confirmed rollout.
