What the report says

Gematsu reports that Drop Fake and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have announced DCKO, a free-to-play fighting game based on DC characters. The game is planned for iOS and Android in 2027, with pre-registration already open through its official website. The announcement positions DCKO as a mobile player-versus-player title built around real-time combat using DC heroes and villains.

According to the overview cited by Gematsu, DCKO will let players form teams from across the DC Universe and compete in ranked real-time fights. The initial roster listed includes Batman, Robin, Bane, Nightwing, Starfire, Zatanna, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Cyborg, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Raven, Blue Beetle, Constantine, Katana, Lex Luthor and Doomsday. The site also says a new “Legend” is planned to be revealed each month.

The described combat system uses mobile inputs such as taps for lighter strikes and swipes for heavier attacks, along with throws, defensive techs, super meters and tag-based mechanics. Players will be able to call in a benched character for assists, combine attacks, and customize fighters with interchangeable Super Moves. The game is also slated to include player-versus-environment content, including story modes and a mode called the Rift.

The announcement matters because it adds another major licensed superhero property to the competitive mobile fighting market, with the DC brand and a free-to-play model likely to broaden its potential audience. Gematsu also notes that an announcement trailer accompanied the reveal.
