What the report says

Jadon Sancho is considering his next move after leaving Manchester United as a free agent, with BBC Sport reporting that he is thought to prefer a transfer abroad even though clubs in the Premier League have also made approaches. The winger, now 26, has been weighing options around six weeks after his United contract ended.

Borussia Dortmund are among the sides said to be interested. Sancho had two spells at the German club and made 158 appearances for them before returning to England in a £73m move to United in 2021. BBC Sport says he remains open to different possibilities, but his current preference is for a move away from England.

The article also places Sancho’s recent career in context. He spent the previous season on loan at Aston Villa, where he made 39 appearances as the club finished strongly in domestic and European competitions. Before that, he was loaned to Chelsea for the 2024-25 campaign and made 41 appearances. Chelsea chose to pay a £5m penalty rather than complete the obligation to buy in that loan deal, sending him back to United.

BBC Sport adds that Sancho has been training at non-league Flixton to stay fit while he waits to decide on his next club.
