Foxconn Ramps Up Hiring as iPhone 18 Pro Enters Mass Production - MacRumors

What the report says
MacRumors reported that Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro models have moved into mass production and are now in a ramp-up stage, citing a China Securities News report based on supply-chain sources and relayed via MyDrivers. The report says Foxconn, Apple’s main iPhone assembly partner, has begun its peak hiring period to support large-scale output and inventory preparation ahead of the expected fall launch. Foxconn is said to be offering higher hourly wages, base pay and rehire incentives to attract workers during the production push.
The article says the iPhone 18 Pro is expected to feature a smaller Dynamic Island opening for the front camera and Face ID hardware. MacRumors cited figures suggesting the cutout could shrink from 20.76mm to 13.49mm, reducing its area by about 35% and increasing the screen-to-body ratio to roughly 94.7%. Other expected changes include an A20 Pro chip and a main camera with variable aperture technology, which could adjust light intake for different shooting conditions.
MacRumors also noted generally positive commentary from Chinese brokerages, while framing it as investor analysis rather than confirmation from Apple. CSC Financial and Industrial Securities reportedly pointed to strong iPhone 17 sales, Apple Intelligence expansion, the iPhone 18 cycle, and possible new categories such as a foldable iPhone and smart glasses as factors that could benefit suppliers.
The report adds that Apple may stagger this generation’s rollout. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected first, potentially in September, while the standard iPhone 18 may arrive later, possibly alongside the iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2. Apple has not announced the devices.
