What the report says

Former British royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, has begun a High Court challenge seeking to have police search warrants annulled, according to Al Jazeera’s reporting on Monday. The case is expected to come before a London court in a private hearing on Thursday, with the challenge directed at Thames Valley Police over searches carried out at properties linked to him.

The article says the warrants were used before his arrest earlier this year and were tied to searches of his former homes on royal estates, including a property at Sandringham in eastern England and Royal Lodge in Windsor, west of London. Court officials said the application concerns a judicial review aimed at quashing warrants issued by a judge at the Central Criminal Court on February 18, 2026.

Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on February 19 on suspicion of misconduct in public office, in a case connected to allegations that he shared sensitive information with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein while serving as the UK’s trade envoy. He was released the same day and denies wrongdoing, the report says. He was stripped of his royal titles last year because of his links to Epstein.

Al Jazeera also reported that Thames Valley Police said its investigation remains active and that it would not comment further while legal proceedings continue. The case adds another legal dimension to the long-running fallout from Mountbatten-Windsor’s association with Epstein.
