Forest Green Rovers have allowed manager Robbie Savage to speak to another club, with BBC Sport reporting that the move comes amid interest from Peterborough United over their vacant manager’s job. The National League club also said Savage would not be in the dugout for Tuesday night’s home match against Wealdstone.

According to the BBC report, Savage did not rule out the speculation when asked on Saturday about contact from Peterborough, saying he was focused on preparing his team and was unsure whether the club had been in touch. Savage, a former Wales midfielder, was appointed by Forest Green on 1 July 2025 in his first managerial role in the top five tiers of English football.

The report says Forest Green finished seventh last season and lost in the play-off eliminators, while they are 12th after 10 league games this campaign with four wins, two draws and four defeats. Peterborough are searching for a new manager after sacking Luke Williams on 19 September and sit 23rd in League One with one win from eight league matches.
