Five-Star Plus+ RB David Gabriel Georges commits to Tennessee over Ohio State - On3

What the report says
On3 reported that five-star running back David Gabriel Georges committed to Tennessee on Wednesday, giving coach Josh Heupel and the Volunteers a major recruiting win over Ohio State. Georges, who plays at Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, also had interest from Ole Miss, Georgia and other programs, according to the report.
The commitment adds another high-profile name to Tennessee’s 2027 class. On3 cited the Rivals Industry Rankings, which list Georges as the No. 9 overall prospect in the cycle and the No. 2 running back. He is described as a native of Canada and is listed at 5-foot-11 and 220 pounds. The report said he becomes Tennessee’s 18th commitment in the 2027 class.
On3’s account emphasized Tennessee’s long-running pursuit of Georges, including his relationship with running backs coach De’Rail Sims and multiple visits to Knoxville. Georges had previously spoken positively about the program’s momentum and the atmosphere at Neyland Stadium, while his uncle, Jean Agenor, had pointed to the family’s broader relationships with Tennessee’s staff as a major factor.
The decision matters because elite running back prospects can shape both a recruiting class and a program’s offensive outlook. On3 noted that Georges ran for 1,756 yards and 27 touchdowns as a junior while helping Baylor School win a state championship, including a 431-yard, seven-touchdown game in the semifinals against McCallie. Rivals scouting director Charles Power compared his running style to Quinshon Judkins, highlighting his physicality, vision and tackle-breaking ability while noting room to improve top-end speed.
