FiRe Awards: Pearl Bank wins Gold for 2026 Integrated Report and Financial Reporting

What the report says
Pearl Bank was among the standout winners at the 2026 Financial Reporting (FiRe) Awards, held at Kampala Serena Hotel in Kampala, Uganda, according to The Independent Uganda. The bank received the Gold Award for Integrated Report of the Year and the Financial Services Reporting for Banking Services Tier 1 category. The recognition marks the first integrated reporting award the institution has received under its new Pearl Bank identity after transitioning from PostBank Uganda.
The awards are organised by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) in partnership with the Capital Markets Authority and the Uganda Securities Exchange. They are intended to recognise strong performance in financial reporting, governance, sustainability disclosure and the use of technology. This year’s event was held under the theme “Driving Sustainability Reporting through Technology and Innovation.”
ICPAU President Timothy Ediomu used the occasion to encourage organisations to adopt sustainability disclosure standards early and to use technology to strengthen transparency, accountability and investor confidence. Uganda Communications Commission Executive Director George William Nyombi also highlighted the role of technology in credible sustainability reporting.
Pearl Bank’s chief financial officer, Peter Ssenyange, said the awards reflected progress in the bank’s reporting under its new brand. The bank said it remains focused on long-term value creation, financial inclusion and entrepreneurship support as part of its broader strategy. More generally, the recognition suggests the institution’s corporate reporting has continued to gain prominence during its rebranding and digital transformation.
