Some inbound American Airlines flights to Charlotte were being held at their departure airports, and average arrival delays there increased from 24 minutes to 49 minutes, with some flights potentially facing longer waits. The FAA notice cited a 30% to 60% chance that the Charlotte-specific ground stop could be extended beyond its scheduled end.

American Airlines had not disclosed the cause of the outage in the information reported.
