Experienced FUFA Big League coach Sempigi joins SC Volcanoes

What the report says
SC Volcanoes have added experienced coach Sempigi Sadick as they prepare for their debut season in the FUFA Big League, according to The Independent Uganda. The Kisoro-based club announced the appointment shortly after Sempigi left Kigezi HomeBoyz, a newly promoted Uganda Premier League side. The report says he had helped guide the Kabale-based club to a historic rise into Uganda’s top flight, marking a notable step in his coaching career.
Club president Dr. Martin Mbonye said Sempigi was chosen because of his experience, ambition and understanding of the game. The article also notes that he was introduced to the club’s patron, Robert Mukiza, who serves as director general of the Uganda Investment Authority. The appointment appears to be part of a broader effort to strengthen SC Volcanoes ahead of their first season at this level.
Beyond the coaching change, the club used the occasion to restate its wider ambitions. Commercial and Sponsorship Director Stephen Muneza said SC Volcanoes Kisoro, formerly Mutolere Sports Club, wants to be more than a football team and hopes to promote tourism, investment and community development. As a Big League club, it will play matches in several regions across Uganda, giving it a national platform linked to Kisoro and the wider Kigezi area.
